Michael Fabricant loses Lichfield seat to Labour after 26 years

Labour's Dave Robertson took the seat by 810 votes.

Long-standing Conservative MP Sir Michael Fabricant has lost his Lichfield seat after 26 years.

He was beaten by Labour's Dave Robertson by a majority of 810 votes.

Sir Fabricant first became Lichfield's MP in 1997, after serving the constituency of Mid Staffordshire from 1992.

He secured 16,422 votes to Mr Robertson's 17,232.

In a post on X following his victory, Mr Robertson said "it's a huge honour" to be elected and added he "can't wait to get on and start delivering change" for the area.
