A 29-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman was stabbed to death in north London over the Easter weekend.

Officers were called to reports of the stabbing at an address in Ayley Croft, Enfield, at around 7pm on Saturday.

Pamela Munro, 45, from Enfield, was found with a stab wound and died at the scene.

Abdirazak Omar, of Ayley Croft, Enfield, was on Wednesday charged with murder and possession of a knife in connection with the incident after being arrested on Monday, the Metropolitan Police said.

He will appear at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

Police confirmed the victim and Omar were not known to each other.

Ms Munro's family continue to be supported by specialist officers, the force said.

Speaking on Monday, Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines said: "Our thoughts are with Pamela's family and local residents who will have been significantly impacted following the news of her death.

"I am grateful to local officers and officers from the Specialist Crime Command who have worked tirelessly since Saturday to investigate the circumstances surrounding Pamela's death as well as support the local community.

"Neighbourhood officers will remain at Ayley Croft throughout the coming days to support the community and help investigators continue inquiries."
