Free virtual market launches to support struggling businesses
My Local Market offers small local businesses a place to trade in challenging circumstances
A virtual market has been started to fill the gap of traditional Christmas markets this year and to support local businesses which have been hit hard by this year's coronavirus pandemic.
My Local Market has launched following a difficult year for retail, it allows local businesses to sign up for free and create a virtual market stall.
It's been launched in association with a number of radio stations across the country, including Clyde 1.
'A Christmas unlike any other'
Speaking on the decision to launch My Local Market, Graham Bryce, Group Managing Director for the Hits Radio Brand Network, said:
“The build up to this Christmas season is unlike any other we have experienced in modern times, and we want to do everything we can to support local businesses hit hard by the pandemic.
“My Local Market is a way to capture the spirit of the annual Christmas Marketplace virtually, and provide local businesses access to our audiences through the Christmas season and beyond.
“As a partner to local businesses, we’re proud to provide local traders a helping hand at the end of a very challenging year and spread some virtual Christmas joy.”
