He will host leaders from around the world over the three day summit, starting Friday, but today he has been visiting Spaceport Cornwall.

Boris is in Cornwall ahead of the start of the summit to have face-to-face talks with US President Joe Biden on Thursday.

It will be their first in-person meeting since the President took office.

The US President will also arrive in England today ahead of the summit.

Joe Biden is due to land in Suffolk at 8pm.

Boris landed in the Duchy at around 4:30pm

Boris Johnson spoke at Spaceport Cornwall this afternoon:

"I think the legacy for Cornwall is the fantastic investment you're seeing here as a result of the G7.

"The Spaceport in Newquay, which is being expanded as a result of the G7 coming here.

"Next year there is an opportunity for a launch of satellites from Cornwall and you see here investment in green technology.

"Cornwall is a leader in green technology and we think it will be the first net-zero part of the UK.

"We're helping to support that with a series of town deals, investing in e-bikes and cycle lanes."

Mr Johnson added what he hopes G7 will achieve:

"“So here at the G7, what we’re looking at is making sure that we have a new treaty on pandemics, working to that, building back greener, building back better, which is why we’re looking at what’s going on here in Cornwall, with all the green technology.

“But also talking about the values we have in common, everything we want to do together. This is a huge agenda.”
