Perrie joined Boogie and Arlene on Saturday 13th April to talk about her return to music, with her debut solo song 'Forget About Us' and how her gorgeous two-year-old son Axel features on her upcoming album.

The singer has been teasing her new music for some time now, but we've had to wait until 12th April to hear it in full, it's already a big hit with fans, and of course we're playing it on Clyde 1.

Opening up about her debut solo album, which has yet to be named, Perrie told Boogie and Arlene that Axel features on her music. "He features on my album already," she revealed. "He was actually one, when we recorded it, he was only one because he turned two after.

"He sings and he talks, he’s so cute," she gushed, continuing: "I can't wait for everyone to hear it."

The singer who was part of Little Mix for more than 10 years, continued: "It's really hard, I think it's a really, really hard thing to balance and it's always going to be hard because you know, you need to remind yourself that you're still a human as well. I'm not Axel’s mummy 24/7. I also have a passion for singing, so it's really hard to kind of get the balance right."

She continued: "But I think I'm in a good place and I take him a lot of the time if I travel and things like that. So I don't get the mum guilt, but it is, it is really, really tricky."

When will Perrie's album be released?

Perrie also teased her debut album. While she has yet to reveal the name, she has revealed it will be out later this year.

Along with her current single, which was co-written by Ed Sheeran, the album also features a song written by RAYE, and there is a country sound to her music. Despite country being super popular at the moment, with Anne-Marie's 'Unhealthy' with Shania Twain, and Beyoncé's 'Texas Hold 'Em', breaking into the pop charts, Perrie admitted it was unintentional, for her music, saying: "Do you know what? That's happened a lot through my solo, project.

"I don't know why, I don't know what it is... Obviously I love country music, but it was never an intention for me to like make sure things sounded country, it's just happened."

Perrie went on to admit: "I don't know if it's my voice, or the way I sing."

You can hear Perrie's new song on Clyde 1.
