Mark Warbuton has played down the significance of Rangers' League Cup tie against St Johnstone, believing the difference in standard between clubs at the top of the Championship and the majority in the Premiership is very small.

The Ibrox side are at home to the Perth outfit on Tuesday in the third round of the competition.

Warburton says his players are treating it like every other fixture because, despite the media building it up, he doesn't believe there is a big gulf between the sides.
