Partick Thistle have completed their second signing in the space of 24 hours after landing Kilmarnock teenager David Syme on a free transfer.

The 18-year-old defender has signed a one-year contract with the Jags after being told by Killie boss Lee Clark he was free to find a new club.

His capture follows Wednesday's news that AFC Wimbledon striker Ade Azeez had signed a pre-contract.to join Alan Archibald's side.

Syme made 11 appearances for Kilmarnock but did not feature at all under Clark, who replaced Gary Locke in February, after injury ended his season early.

Azeez, 22, has signed a two-year deal with Thistle and will officially join the Jags on July 1 following the expiry of his Wimbledon deal.

After starting his career with Charlton, the former England youth international was loaned out to Wycombe, Leyton Orient, Torquay and Dagenham.

He then moved to the Dons in 2014, going on to score 14 goals in 98 appearances. His last appearance for Neal Ardley's side saw him replace former Partick striker Lyle Taylor in the final minute of their victorious League Two play-off final win over Plymouth.

Syme and Azeez's signings mean Archibald has now made three successful moves this summer.

Dundee United winger Chris Erskine has already confirmed he will be returning to Maryhill for a third stint after signing a pre-contract earlier this year.
