Clyde 1 Superscoreboard pundit Gordon Dalziel has been appointed as a consultant at Airdrie Football Club to revamp the football operation.

The former Raith Rovers and Ayr United manager will work in an advisory role to help re-invent the club, currently positioned 6th in the Ladbrokes Scottish League One.

Gordon will work alongside newly appointed head coach Kevin McBride to scrutinise each aspect of running the club to bring them closer to League and Cup success once again and re-establish the domestic success of the club in previous years.

The club has struggled to a single win from their last five games in the third tier of Scottish football.

Gordon guided Ayr United to a League Cup Final and a Scottish Cup Semi Final in the 2001/2002 season.

Chairman Tom Wotherspoon said: ‘Gordon has come in to have a look at every aspect of the football operation.

‘Having experienced success in his playing and coaching career, he will make recommendations to the board regarding changes we can make to the club forward.

‘Nothing has changed regarding the coaching setup. Kevin McBride is still head coach and will look after first team affairs with his coaching staff.’

Gordon will continue with his weekly commitments to Clyde 1 Superscoreboard.
