Last updated 1st Sep 2025
Stephen Welsh has signed for Motherwell on a season-long loan from Celtic.
The defender has not been in any of Celtic's matchday squads so far this campaign, with five centre backs ahead of him in Brendan Rodgers' pecking order.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at KV Mechelen in Belgium.
He has made 68 appearances for his boyhood club, scoring four goals.
Welsh's contract at Parkhead runs until 2027.
The former Scotland youth international joins a transformed Motherwell side under Jens Berthel Askou.
The Dane's possession-based football has seen them remain unbeaten in their opening four Premiership matches.
