Tony Watt has completed a loan move to St Mirren to reunite with former manager Stephen Robinson.

Watt had been looking to leave Dundee United after falling out of favour under Liam Fox, with several Premiership clubs interested in his signature.

The 29-year-old previously worked under Robinson at Motherwell.

The Buddies were keen to strengthen their forward options after allowing Eamonn Brophy to leave for Ross County and the injury to Jonah Ayunga.

Speaking with stmirren.com, Watt said: "I'm buzzing. I'm delighted to be here and now it's time to get to work.

"I know the manager and I've played with a lot of the boys so hopefully it'll be a seamless transition.

"I want to win games and adapt to the team. The manager wants me to play through the middle and score goals and that's what he believes I can do.

"I'm ready and raring to go and hopefully I can be involved in the next few days."

Earlier today the club sold midfielders Ethan Erhahon and Dylan Reid and were keen on bringing in some extra reinforcements.

St Mirren sit in 6th place and will hope Watt can help in a push for European football.
