Urawa Red Diamonds and Celtic 'reach €4million agreement' for Giorgos Giakoumakis

Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis looks close to agreeing a move away from the club in a €4million move.

The Greek international has been linked with a transfer this month after failing to agree a new contract.

Giakoumakis is also understood to be unhappy with his playing time after falling behind Kyogo in the pecking order at Parkhead.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano is now reporting J-League side Urawa Red Diamonds have reached an agreement to sign Giakoumakis.

He suggests the package would be worth €4million, however, MLS side Atlanta United are also keen on a deal.

Romano Tweeted: "Urawa Red Diamonds have reached an agreement with Celtic for transfer of Giōrgos Giakoumakīs. Understand it’s €4m package. #transfers

"MLS side Atlanta still trying to sign the player — while personal terms are still under discussion with Urawa."

Clubs in Italy, Scandanavia and Russia have also been linked with last season's Scottish Premiership top scorer.
