Trabzonspor 'make formal approach' for James Tavernier

Published 18th Jul 2024

Rangers could be left with a big decision to make on the future of James Tavernier.

The right-back has spent nine seasons at Ibrox and has been a key player for several managers during that spell.

Questions had been raised over his future this summer with manager Philippe Clement looking to revamp his squad.

Turkish side Trabzonspor have reportedly made an offer for the goal scoring defender, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

It would open up an avenue to join two of his former teammates at the club.

Borna Barisic and John Lundstram have already joined Trabzonspor this summer after their Rangers contracts ran out.

Ryan Jack is another experienced player who has left this summer.

Connor Goldson has also been linked with a move away from Glasgow in recent weeks.
