Tommy Wright not taking St Johnstone's clash with Ross County lightly
His side have won on their last four trips to Dingwall
St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright expects a tough game against Ross County despite his side's recent record at Dingwall.
Saints have won their last four trips to Victoria Park and take on Owen Coyle's side who are without a win in their previous seven outings.
It is a run that has taken the Staggies to the bottom of the Ladbrokes Premiership, and while Wright is aware of his side's record there and an impressive run on the road this season, he expects a tough clash.
“It's been a happy hunting ground for us in the last few years, we've done well away from home up there,” he told Press Association Sport. “But it's one of those difficult grounds to go to and teams seems to struggle up there against them.
“The reason we have done well is simply because every time we go up there, we seem to play really well.
“It's a tough game and the middle game of three in what is a difficult week for all players in the middle of the holidays.
“We have to be professional in that period, and go up there to try and get another positive result.”
Despite County's recent slump, Wright praised Coyle and is pleased to see managers such as him, Steve Clarke and Craig Levein return to the Scottish top flight.
The Saints boss, whose side drew 0-0 with Hearts on Saturday but dropped out of the top six, said: “He (Coyle) is an experienced manager and enthusiastic, so he won't let the players get down.
“They've been a little bit unlucky and could argue they were unlucky with some decisions against Hamilton, but we all get that.
“He will be looking to get back to winning ways, particularly at home and try to make that an oftenness, but he's a manager who has been at the top level and I like to see clubs recognise the importance of experienced managers.
“There are a lot of good young coaches out there but you have to ask are they ready for management? There are a lot of facets to it and sometimes the younger coach are very qualified, but are they qualified enough for the job?
“Owen you couldn't say that, he has loads of experience and will be wanting to get Ross County away from those bottom two places."
