Former Hampden chief Gordon Smith hits out at SFA over handling of Walter Smith approach

It comes after the former Rangers boss ruled himself out of the running to become Gordon Strachan's successor at Hampden.

Former SFA chief Gordon Smith has criticised his former employers by suggesting they scared away Walter Smith by making there approach for the 69-year-old public.

Smith told Radio Clyde News the Tartan Amry deserve clarity regarding the situation at Hampden and says they must now lok to the likes of Alex McLeish or Steve Clarke to take over.
