We did our talking on the pitch, says Scott Brown
Skipper Scott Brown claimed Celtic did their talking on the Ibrox pitch with their 3-2 win over Rangers on Sunday despite going down to 10 men.
Much of the build-up to the game centred on the revelation that Graeme Murty's Gers squad had cheered last week following their William Hill Scottish Cup quarter-final win over Falkirk when they had been drawn against the Hoops in the semi-final.
In what turned out to be an Old Firm classic, Hoops debutant keeper Scott Bain was beaten in the third minute by Josh Windass' drive.
Hoops midfielder Tom Rogic levelled and after Daniel Candeias restored the Light Blues' lead, Celtic striker Moussa Dembele equalised just before the break.
Parkhead defender Jozo Simunovic was sent off for a challenge on Gers striker Alfredo Morelos in the 56th minute before 20-year-old substitute Odsonne Edouard, on loan from Paris St Germain and on for James Forrest, curled in the winner in the 69th minute to take Celtic nine points clear of the Gers at the top of the table with a game in hand.
Brown said: "They talked all week and we just sat down. We did our talking on the park. We always do our talking on the park.
"Whether we win or we lose, we always fight till the last minute.
"That's happened a few times to us now. Whether there is 11 of us or 10, we have always got that belief.
"We were a little bit slack from back through to front for maybe the first 45 minutes but we came in at 2-2 after great finishes from Moussa and Tom, so they dug us out of the deep end.''
Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty was left with a "sour taste'' following the defeat and hopes to make amends in the cup semi-final next month.
He said: "When you take the lead twice at home you expect to come away with three points, a point minimum.
"Everybody in that dressing room knows that was chance for us.
"So that's the most disappointing thing.
"Sometimes football is like that. We are just going to have to pick ourselves up.
"The semi-final is another chance for us, we will prepare well and hopefully we will come away with the win
