Superscoreboard is launching a new podcast, specifically looking into women's football in Scotland and further afield.

Superscoreboard: Women in Football will be co-hosted by Jo Hendry and Callum Bell.

Jo says: "This week we're kicking off with a brand new podcast looking into the women's game in Scotland and beyond.

"We're really just shining a light on the game, telling all the stories, all the latest news, and it's the first thing of its kind, which is the most exciting thing.

"As well as being about your bread and butter stuff, like the fixtures, it's about letting young girls know that there's a pathway for them as a career, whether it's in the men's game or the women's.

"No one really talks about or celebrates how much the women do for the game.

"Last summer when we saw Scotland in the World Cup, everyone really got behind the women, and for me, really getting behind that, was the catalyst for people sitting up and taking notice of these incredible professional athletes.

"In Scotland, with Celtic and Rangers' women both going professional for the first time, it shows there is a viable way for girls to get into the sport."

In the first episode, Jo sits down for an exclusive interview with Scotland women's team manager Shelley Kerr.

Kerr talks about overcoming negative attitudes towards the women's game when she was growing up, and how she used that as motivation.

She says: "I didn't block it out, it was there.

"It was always at the forefront of my mind, and it was one of those things that was in your head, and you felt you had a point to prove."

St Mirren captain Jane O'Toole also features in the first episode, after a video of her punching her dislocated knee back into place went viral online.
