Stephen Robinson 'set to be named' St Mirren manager
The former Motherwell boss is tipped to be the new frontrunner
St Mirren are set to appoint Stephen Robinson as their new manager, according to a report.
The Buddies are on the hunt for a new boss after Jim Goodwin moved to Aberdeen on Saturday.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano is reporting that former Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson is on the verge of being announced.
Robinson is currently in charge of Morecambe with Romano claiming a 'substantial compensation fee' has been agreed between the clubs.
He says the Buddies will now enter into personal discussions with the Northern Irishman.
Jack Ross is reported to have knocked back an approach to return to Paisley, while Steven Naismith and Scott Brown have been linked with the vacancy.
St Mirren sit seventh in the Premiership - just one point off fourth.
