St Mirren to hold minute's applause ahead of Celtic clash
The club have made the decision to honour Queen Elizabeth II
St Mirren will hold a minute's applause before their match with Celtic on Sunday in memory of Queen Elizabeth II.
Last weekend's matches were postponed following the death of Her Majesty and the SPFL has said clubs will be allowed to pay tribute this weekend with games going ahead.
The club have now revealed an applause will be held at the SMISA Stadium ahead of the midday kick-off.
St Johnstone have also said they will be doing the same ahead of their match against Ross County on Saturday.
Asked about the decision, St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson said: "I can only speak for us as a football club and myself.
"We'll be showing our utmost respect. We just hope everybody is respectful".
UEFA have opened disciplinary proceedings against Celtic after supporters unveiled anti-monarchist banners before their Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk.
Speaking ahead of their 1-1 draw in Poland, Ange Postecoglou said he would take part in whatever measures were put in place.
He said: “I will abide by whatever regulations there are. I’m not the keeper of people’s obligations.
“We live in a society where people can express their own values in any way they want.
"I will be doing it my way and my club will do it our way, and everyone else can do what they like.”
