Southampton are in advanced talks to sign Joe Aribo from Rangers.

The midfielder has entered the final year of his contract and looks increasingly likely to leave Ibrox this summer.

Various reports suggest Southampton are closing in on completing a deal that could rise to £10million.

Aribo is understood to have a release clause of that figure in his current contract.

The 25-year old joined Rangers from Charlton in 2019 for a fee of around £300,000.

Aribo has gone on to make 149 appearances for the club, scoring 26 goals - the last of those in their Europa League final defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be hoping to make a healthy profit on the player as the club look to build their squad ahead of the new season.

Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos also find themselves entering the final year of their contracts with their futures still up in the air.

John Souttar is the only summer arrival at Ibrox so far after signing a pre-contract in January.
