Sky Sports have apologised to Aberdeen over a promo video that showed Celtic scoring 22 times against the Dons.
It was shown online ahead of yesterday's game at Pittodrie that finished 3-3. Chairman Dave Cormack said it had humiliated his club.
A joint statement from Aberdeen Football Club and Sky sports has said that the broadcaster has apologised to the club and their fans.
The statement says: "Aberdeen FC chairman Dave Cormack and Sky Sports Director of Football Gary Hughes held an open, constructive, and positive Zoom conversation this evening Monday 26 October about yesterday’s tweet and the concerns raised by Aberdeen. While the tweet was part of a number of features within an hour long build-up and not intended to be used in isolation, Sky unreservedly apologised for any offence the tweet caused to Aberdeen and their fans."
"The apology has been accepted by the club. Sky Sports also outlined its plans and ambitions for the future of Scottish football and will work with Aberdeen to deliver these over the period of the exclusive contract with the SPFL."
The video in question showed Celtic scoring various goals against Aberdeen at Pittodrie, but failed to show any goals scored by the Granite City club.
It caused an uproar not just from supporters of the club, but also fans of other clubs.
