Shinnie hopeful of McInnes remaining Aberdeen boss
Graeme Shinnie's belief that Derek McInnes will still be Aberdeen's manager when he returns from Scotland duty is laced with hope.
Speculation continues to suggest Rangers will make a move for the former Ibrox midfielder as replacement for recently-sacked Portuguese coach Pedro Caixinha.
The Dons' skipper met up with the Scotland squad at their base on the outskirts of Edinburgh looking to earn his first cap against the Netherlands at Pittodrie.
Asked if he expected McInnes to still be in situ when he reports back from international duty, the 26-year-old midfielder said: "Yes, I expect him to be there. I hope he will be there.
"Football is football, you can never tell what is going to happen.
"We just need to get on with it the same way we would and if it does happen then that is out of our hands.
"The players don't get caught up on that and the manager hasn't been caught up on that either. It has been a side part of anything we have tried to do.
"The manager says it himself, you can't really deal with speculation. It is all talk of this and that and we can't really deal with that.
"Speculation will happen in football, especially at a club like Aberdeen. You would expect it with players and the manager and with the job he has done.
"Like I said, it is out of our hands and we just get on with our football.
