The Scottish FA have agreed compensation with the IFA and can now begin formal talks with Michael O'Neill regarding the vacant Scotland managerial vacancy.

O'Neill's contract with Northern Ireland is set to expire but has been offered a bumped new deal to remain with his home country.

But after a formal approach last month, compensation - believed to be around ÂŁ500,000 - has been agreed between the two footballing associations and talks are set to commence next week.

We are told a deal is still a long way of being agreed.
