Scott Wright admits Rangers allowed him to play out his football dreams as he prepared to fly to Turkey to discuss a move away from Ibrox.

It was reported that Rangers had agreed a £500,000 fee with newly-promoted Turkish Super Lig side Pendikspor for the 25-year-old winger, who joined the Light Blues from Aberdeen in 2021.

Wright won the cinch Premiership with Rangers in 2021, scored in the 2022 Scottish Cup final win over Hearts and started the 2022 Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt in Seville, but had dropped down the pecking order under Michael Beale, who is in the midst of overhauling his squad.

Speaking to Sky Sports News at Edinburgh airport before flying out, Wright said: "It gives me a chance to play more regular football.

"I had conversations with Michael Beale, just to try to play a wee bit more, and came to a conclusion that it's maybe best for me to try and move on.

"The clubs have obviously agreed a fee and I will go and have a look and see what I think.

"You always want to test yourself. It's an opportunity that excites me and one I'm looking forward to looking into.

"I've absolutely loved my time at Rangers and they will always have a special place in my heart.

"I achieved some things there that I dreamt of when I was growing up, the Champions League, Europa League and obviously the Scottish Cup and the league was fantastic for myself. So yeah, absolutely no regrets.

"I don't want to make excuses for myself but it's a fantastic squad at Rangers and I wish them the best.

"Michael Beale is building a fantastic squad and yeah, we'll see what happens."
