FIFA have decided to cancel all standing cautions that have not resulted in a sending-off ahead of the World Cup Play-Offs this March, after a request from UEFA.

This means that eight Scotland players, including captain Andy Robertson, will not miss the Final if they are booked in the Semi-Final against Ukraine, permitting Scotland progress.

Che Adams, Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour, John McGinn, Stephen O'Donnell, Kevin Nisbet and Jack Hendry were all also one booking away from a suspension, having already been cautioned once in the 10 qualifying matches.

It is a huge boost for manager Steve Clarke and his team, who will now have a full squad to pick from ahead of these two crucial games on the road to Qatar, injury permitting.

The decision has also been welcomed by potential Final opponents Wales, who had seven players walking the disciplinary tightrope, including Aaron Ramsey.

Scotland face Ukraine at Hampden Park on Thursday 24th March, whilst the winner of Wales and Austria await the victors in the Final on Tuesday 29th March.

The Qatar 2022 World Cup begins on 21st November this year.
