Scotland in better shape for second clash with Slovakia says Strachan
Scotland manager Gordon Strachan believes his team have discovered an end product since their 3-0 defeat in Slovakia.
The final half hour of Scotland's defeat in Bratislava in October last year was arguably the lowest point of their indifferent start to the World Cup qualifiers.
But, after taking four points from their opening four games, Scotland came within seconds of taking maximum points from their next four, with only England striker Harry Kane denying them.
Strachan's men go into the Hampden clash with Slovakia on October 5 knowing that victory would leave them with the prospect of sealing second spot in Group F, and a potential play-off, if they win in Slovenia in their final game.
And Strachan feels they are in better shape ahead of the return fixture against Slovakia.
"The squad is a bit different, no doubt about that,'' Strachan said.
"I keep looking back at the Slovakia game. The first half we were the better team, we had more chances than them. They had one real good chance, well it wasn't a good chance.
"A lot of the things we did were right, we got into positions where we wanted to get practised, we had thought about them, talked about them. But on the night we didn't deliver the final pass, the final shot.
"The difference in the last four or five games, when we are in those situations, we are delivering the final pass or shot. It's not cosmic, this."
