Rangers are set to play home matches at Hampden at the start of the new season as they close in on securing a deal with the Scottish FA.

Ibrox will not be ready due to construction delays with the club renovating the Copland Road stand.

Materials being shipped to the UK will not arrive in time for work to be completed for the beginning of the new campaign.

A deal is set to be agreed that will see Rangers rent the national stadium.

Murrayfield had also been touted as an option but the Light Blues will instead stay in Glasgow.

An official announcement is expected in the coming days.

Philippe Clement's side first home match of the season is on August 10 against Motherwell.

They take on Ross County two weeks later with Hibernian the following month.

Two European qualifiers are also set to be held at Hampden with the possibility of a Premier Sports Cup last 16 tie as well.

Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell says they are not concerned by the imminent change of venue.

He said: "It doesn't change anything for me at all.

"I'm certainly not sitting here firing shots at anyone because of a situation.

"Very simply, on the given date, we'll have to play against Rangers.

"Anytime we do they're a good side and it's always a difficult day and a tough game.

"But we're going to a place I know very, very well. I've played a lot of games there, certinaly in my days at Queen's Park.

"You're going to one of the best stadiums in the country with what will be a big crowd and all these different factors that are always involved in it.

"But I don't really focus on the surroundings too much. I focus on what is on the pitch.

"There will be no excuses from out side of things and no change to our mindset".
