Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty joins Shrewsbury Town on-loan
The 21-year old made 14 appearances for the Ibrox club last season
Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty has joined Shrewsbury on a season-long loan.
Docherty joined from Hamilton in January and made 14 appearances before the end of the season, but found himself on the fringes as Steven Gerrard revamped his squad.
The 21-year-old is thought to have a long-term future at Ibrox, but will spend the 2018-19 season in Sky Bet League One after agreeing a temporary stay at New Meadow.
Speaking to the club's official website, Shrews boss John Askey said: "Greg's got good pedigree, played a lot of games for his age and helps to strengthen the midfield up, an area of the park that I think is vital for us.
"He had one or two options. He's done well getting his move to Rangers and then from what I've seen and what I've heard about him he's done well at Rangers.
"A new manager's gone in there and obviously he's got his own plans, but I think he's still very much a part of Rangers, it's just that they want him to play games, so hopefully we've benefited from it.'
