Rangers have announced that Nils Koppen is the club's new Director of Football Recruitment.

Koppen will join from PSV Eindhoven, subject to receiving a work permit.

The 38-year-old currently holds the same role at the Dutch club, where he has been working since 2018.

He fills a role that has been vacant since Ross Wilson left the club in April this year.

The Dutchman will officially begin working on January 2 and will lead the club’s player trading model and scouting department.

Speaking to Rangers.com upon his appointment, Koppen said: “I am delighted to be joining such a prestigious club like Rangers in what is a crucial role for the club’s forward strategy.

“The Chairman and CEO have both been clear in recent times our player trading model has to function better and on a more regular basis.

“I look forward to working with the scouting team already here at the club to ensure we reach our goals in the coming years.”

The Ibrox side have also confirmed the appointment of Tom Taylor, from Brighton, as their new Head of Performance.

The two moves complete the men's footballing board following a year of sweeping changes.
