Rangers investigating claims players breached coronavirus guidelines
The Ibrox side has launched an internal investigation after claims players attended a lockdown party
Rangers has launched an internal investigation after claims players broke coronavirus protocols by attending a party.
It is alleged squad members were at a gathering on Saturday night that was broken up by police officers.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: “We have received reports of a gathering at a property in Hayburn Lane, Glasgow, at 1.10am on Sunday, February 14.
“Officers attended and those in attendance left. Ten people were issued with fixed penalty notices for breaching coronavirus regulations.”
The Ibrox side took to Twitter to say they are looking into the claims.
They said: “Rangers are aware of an alleged incident which is subject to an internal investigation. We will make no further comment.”
It comes after Jordan Jones and George Edmundson were banned for seven matches following a rule breach last year.
