Rangers will not appoint Jonathan Hunter-Barrett as the club's new academy director.

The 35-year-old will be staying at Premier League side Wolves instead.

A statement said the decision was reached by mutual agreement.

Hunter-Barret was being brought in by former sporting director Kevin Thelwell, who confirmed last month that the Englishman would be joining in the New Year.

Thelwell was sacked last week, alongside CEO Patrick Stewart.

Rangers say they will "progress with alternative plans" for the Academy leadership team.
