Rangers duo Joe Aribo and Kemar Roofe will be available to face Celtic next month after fears they could miss out due to international commitments.

Aribo has been at the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria but the favourites were knocked out by Tunisia on Sunday night.

It means the midfielder will return to Scotland earlier than expected and be back in contention for Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side.

Kemar Roofe was expected to be called up to Jamaica's squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers, but has been left out.

Jamaica boss Paul Hall told the Daily Record that Roofe had requested to stay in Glasgow to work his way back to fitness.

He said: "Kemar would have been one of the first names on my list.

"However, Kemar had indicated that he needs to to fully recover from his last injury. Hence his absence from the squad."

The striker came off the bench in Rangers' 4-0 Scottish Cup win against Stirling Albion on Friday night.

It was Roofe's first appearance since starting their 1-1 draw away to Lyon at the beginning of December.

Alfredo Morelos will miss the match after earning a Colombia recall, while Celtic will have two absentees.

Tom Rogic will be away with Australia and new forward Daizen Maeda has been selected for Japan.
