Rangers have completed the deadline day signing of Ianis Hagi on loan until the end of the season.

The Romania international has joined from Belgian club Genk in a deal which also gives Rangers an exclusive option to make the deal permanent.

The 21-year old already has ten international caps to his name, making his senior debut in 2018.

He started his career in his homeland with Viitorul Constanța, before moving to Italy with Fiorentina in 2016.

The attacking midfielder returned to Viitorul two years later before making the move to Belgium with Genk in the summer where he's scored three goals in 19 appearances.

Speaking to RangersTV, Ianis said: “It is a great honour to play at such a huge club with a lot of history and I am looking forward to meeting everyone in the club and I can’t wait for the first training session.

“Being in such a huge club and having this mentality of winning every game made me take this decision and I am really happy.

“I can’t wait to meet the fans and I can’t wait for them to meet me and try to build this relationship as good as possible.”

Boss Steven Gerrard said in a statement: "We are delighted to be able to add Ianis to the squad of players for the second half of the season.

"We have been scouting him for some time and it was clear that he has the quality to help to make a difference to the team.''
