Rangers have made an opening bid for Feyenoord striker Danilo - but their offer has already been rejected, according to reports.

Manager Michael Beale wants to strengthen his forward line this summer and has identified the 24-year-old as a potential solution.

The Brazilian impressed for the Dutch side last campaign, scoring 14 goals in all competitions.

It the attackers first season at De Kuip following a move from Ajax last summer.

He could be on the move again, only this time to Glasgow.

The Herald's Senior Rangers Writer Chris Jack reported that the Ibrox side made an opening bid for Danilo's services on Tuesday morning.

However, several outlets - including Edinburgh Evening News' Barry Anderson - say the bid has already been rejected by the Dutch outfit.

The Gers remain interested in other forwards, keeping an eye on Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers.

A deal that may be closer to completion is the loan of Abdullah Sima from Brighton.

Sima spent last campaign on loan at Angers, impressing from the right wing position.

The 22-year-old Senegalese could complete his move to Glasgow as early as this week.

He would become Beale's fifth summer addition, following the arrivals of Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling, Jack Butland and Sam Lammers.

Rangers return to pre-season training at Auchenhowie on Friday.

The Premiership season begins on 5 August.
