Raith Rovers have appointed Ian Murray as their new Manager.

The 41-year-old will join the Kirkcaldy side after the expiry of his contract with Airdrie.

He signs a two year deal.

The Ex-Hibs man has spent four years with Airdrie, narrowly missing out on promotion to the Championship in the last two seasons, after losing in Play-off finals.

The club say they hope Murray's arrival will mark the first page in a new chapter for the club.

They note Murray was the "outstanding candidate" in a "extremely strong pool of interviewees".

Raith Rovers FC Chairman Steven MacDonald said:

“I am delighted to welcome Ian Murray to Raith Rovers as First Team Manager, Ian is a creative hardworking ambitious manager, with an ability and foresight to make changes at the appropriate time, coupled with his determination to win, I feel we have made a great appointment and look forward to Ian bringing success to Raith Rovers”
