Philosophy of Brendan Rodgers 'built-in' to players, says Scott Brown
Celtic captain Scott Brown claims Brendan Rodgers' way of playing is now "in-built" in the players.
Rodgers brushed off criticism of his approach against leading Champions League teams after Celtic conceded 12 goals in two games against Paris St Germain.
Rodgers did change his formation from his usual 4-2-3-1 for last week's trip to Paris but has employed a three-man central defence during numerous domestic games too.
Celtic still tried to attack whenever possible in Paris despite being on the end of a 7-1 defeat and pressed their opponents in possession.
Four days later they had to be patient to break down a stubborn Motherwell side in the Betfred Cup final but James Forrest needed little room to curl an opener four minutes into the second half and Celtic went on to win 2-0.
And Brown feels the familiarity and certainty of Rodgers' demands is helping them succeed after they took their unbeaten domestic run to 65 matches.
"It's in-built in us now," the midfielder said. "The fans want us to keep playing that way, the manager wants us to keep playing that way, and we want to keep playing that way. We have just got to stick with our philosophy and keep it going.
"We have always stuck to our game plan. Our game plan is to get the ball down and play and we showed that, whether we are away to PSG or we're playing Motherwell. It doesn't matter who it is, we play the same way.
"It's good for us trying to better ourselves as well when you're playing against top-quality players, and yet again we are playing against top-quality players in the cup final against Motherwell. They made it hard for us and they were always going to do that. But the manager got his tactics spot on again.
