Partick Thistle will be without forward Christie Elliott against St Johnstone on Saturday after he lost his appeal against the red card he received in the previous meeting between the teams.
Elliott was sent off by referee Crawford Allan near the end of Thistle's 1-0 Ladbrokes Premiership defeat on February 1 after clashing with Saints striker Graham Cummins.
The versatile player failed to overturn a two-match ban at a Scottish Football Association judicial panel hearing.
Thistle manager Alan Archibald said: "We are disappointed. We obviously thought we had a chance or we wouldn't have gone for it, but it's not to be so we move on."
Thistle could also be missing several players due to injury for the William Hill Scottish Cup clash at McDiarmid Park, with three or four doubtful through muscle problems.
Archibald said: "We have a number of injuries, we have quite a lot but I will not go into them."
