Rangers defender Nikola Katic has secured a loan move to Hadjuk Split.
The 24-year old missed the whole of their title-winning campaign after suffering an injury last summer.
The Croatian has returned to full training but Steven Gerrard felt the best move was to send him out on loan for game time - but retain an option to recall him in January.
Katic is currently behind Connor Goldson, Filip Helander, Leon Balogun and Jack Simpson in the pecking order at Ibrox.
He will now return to his homeland as he works his way up to match fitness.
The club said on their official website: "Nikola Katic has today joined Croatian side Hajduk Split on a season-long loan.
"Rangers will retain a recall option for January on the central defender, who has made 59 appearances and scored six goals in his time at the club thus far.
"Everyone at Rangers wishes Niko well for his loan spell as he works his way back following a difficult year on the sidelines",
