Newcastle midfielder Elliot Anderson earns first Scotland call-up
The 20-year old joins the senior squad for the first time
Newcastle United midfielder Elliot Anderson has earned his first call-up to the Scotland senior squad.
The 20-year old has been capped by both Scotland and England at youth level - leaving him with a decision to make on his international allegiance.
Anderson now looks to have committed himself to Steve Clarke's side after being announced in the squad for upcoming matches against Cyprus and England.
He is part of the 25-man squad that also includes Scott McKenna and Che Adams on their return from injury.
Scotland face Cyprus in Larnaca in a crucial Euro 2024 qualifier next Fridaybefore hosting England in a their 150th Anniversary Heritage Match at Hampden on Tuesday, 12 September.
They will be looking to keep the momentum going after wins over Norway and Georgia in June left the national side top of their qualification group.
