Rangers manager Michael Beale bemoaned the concession of "poor" goals as his side squandered a lead in the final moments against Celtic at Ibrox.

Kyogo Furuhashi's dramatic late equaliser earned Ange Postecoglou's side a 2-2 draw against at Ibrox to retain their strong grip on the cinch Premiership title race.

Fellow Japanese attacker Daizen Maeda opened the scoring for the visitors in the fifth minute after taking advantage of atrocious Gers defending.

The Light Blues looked forlorn going down the tunnel at half-time but Ryan Kent curled in the equaliser two minutes after the break before skipper James Tavernier slammed in a penalty five minutes later.

However, in the 87th minute, Furuhashi flashed a shot from 12 yards high into the net to keep Ange Postecoglou's side nine points clear of their Glasgow rivals at the top of the table.

Beale said: "The two goals are poor goals to give away, certainly the early one. It took us 10-15 minutes to find ourselves again and I didn't really want the half-time whistle to come.

"We needed to show a little bit more belief and at the start of the second half we showed that and got ourselves in front and were in control. We had a big chance to go 3-1 with Malik (Tillman) and their second goal is really poor from us. We sat deep and had three or four chances to clear.

"I'm disappointed. I saw a lot of good things, a lot of players who were committed to the cause. I would like us to show a little more quality in possession at times but second half we were excellent. If we had won the game, I think it would have been fair."
