McInnes to miss Aberdeen's media conference as Rangers discussions continue

Derek McInnes will not be at Aberdeen's media conference on Thursday and is absent from training for a second day as talks about a possible move to Rangers continues.

The Ibrox side made an approach to Aberdeen on Tuesday evening asking to speak to McInnes about becoming their next manager but were refused permission by the Pittodrie club.

The manager and assistant Tony Docherty held talks with chairman Stewart Milne on Wednesday.

McInnes will miss Aberdeen's media conference ahead of their Premiership match against Dundeem with coach Paul Sheerin taking his place
