The 26-year-old has agreed a two-year deal subject to international clearance and him being granted a work permit.
Canning has been on the lookout for new attacking options all summer but believes he has now got the man who can provide Accies with the firepower they currently lack.
Rojano started his career in his homeland with Gimnasia before spending the last two years with Bolivian top-flight outfit Real Potosi.
He ended last term as one of Potosi's top scorers with 15 goals in 33 appearances.
Canning said: "He's a different type of striker to what we currently have. He's a poacher who can score goals and add value to the team at the top end.
"It's taken a while getting the deal tied up because of all the bits of paperwork that have had to be gone through but we're almost there now.
"Once we have got the international clearance and work permit confirmed he will be available to play.
"That could still take a couple of weeks yet so we're looking at the Celtic game on September 8 for him joining in."
Canning has also rewarded 20-year-old midfielder Greg Docherty with a new three-year deal which ties him to the SuperSeal Stadium until 2020.
The Scotland Under-21 international knows he is lucky to have the security of a long-term contract but is determined to repay the manager for his show of faith.
"It was a no-brainer for me,'' said the youngster. "There was not much to talk about once I knew the offer was on the table.
"The club have shown great faith in me with it being quite a long deal and that's massive for me.
"It's only a handful of players like Ali Crawford, Grant Gillespie and Michael Devlin who have been given a deal of this length
