Ross County have parted company with manager Malky Mackay.

The club are without a win in nine matches and sit second from bottom in the Scottish Premiership.

Mackay was appointed in 2021, and led the club to a top six finish in his first season.

But they only just avoided relegation last season, beating Partick Thistle on penalties in the dramatic play-off final second leg in Dingwall.

But, after a meeting between Malky, Chairman Roy MacGregor and CEO Steven Ferguson, the club decided a change is now required.

Roy said: "Malky has brought so much more to the club and the wider staff than just football management.

"The board would like to put on record our thanks for his contribution over the last 2 ½ years and wish him all the best in the next chapter of his career."
