Morgan has signed a contract until the summer of 2022, his new club announced on Friday.

The 21-year-old will spend the rest of the season on loan at St Mirren.

Morgan has scored 13 goals for the Ladbrokes Championship leaders this season.

The Scotland Under-21 international said at a press conference: "I can't wait to get started in the summer. Obviously I have a duty to St Mirren to go back and hopefully have a positive second half of the season with them. And then I can't wait to get going.

"It's probably been one of the worst kept secrets in Scottish football, but it has not really affected me. I have been at peace with my decision for the last couple of months. Once I found peace with that, my performances have been on the up.

"When a club like Celtic comes along, I don't think you can turn it down. I think it speaks for itself. There was only ever going to be one choice. The manager here has been great for young players and the development of young players. I'm sure it will benefit me as well and I can't wait to work with all his coaching staff.
