Peter Lawwell returns to Celtic board as Non-Executive Chairman
Lawwell previously spent 18 years as Chief Executive
Celtic have announced that former Chief Executive Peter Lawwell is returning to the club's board as a Non-Executive Chairman.
Lawwell left his previous role in the summer of 2021 after nearly 18 years in charge.
He will begin his new job on January 1st, 2023, taking over from long-serving Chairman Ian Bankier.
Bankier is retiring after 11 years at the club.
Current Chief Executive Michael Nicholson will continue as the most senior board member.
Nicholson took over from Dominic McKay over a year ago.
McKay had been chosen as Lawwell's successor and moved from Scottish Rugby but left the role after just three months, citing 'family reasons'.
During Lawwell's previous tenure the club won 29 trophies, including 13 league titles.
