St Mirren's Chief Operating Officer, Keith Lasley, says selling out the SMISA stadium for Saturday’s crunch match with Kilmarnock is a 'huge achievement' that can help the Saints secure their first ever top six finish.

The club announced on Tuesday that all home end tickets had been sold ahead of the weekend fixture.

It is just the third time a sell-out has occurred since the stadium opened in 2009.

The Buddies just need a point against Killie to secure a top half berth.

Lasley said the fans support could make the difference: "It's huge because the people of Paisley have come out in their numbers and backed us all the way which has been reflected in results and performances at home.

"To see the fans come out in that number and support the team is so pleasing.

"It should be a fantastic occasion and a tough game.

"We are pushing for a first top six finish in this league format, which would be a really big moment for us as a club.

"Hopefully with that support behind us it can roar the boys on and get us over the line."

A first ever top half placing would bring previously unseen financial gain to Stephen Robinson's side.

Lasley says a top half place will help continue the growth of the club: "It would really help us.

"It's well documented that financially it would be beneficial and subsequently the fixtures would be very exciting.

"Who knows where that would lead."

"My task is to try and grow the football club but it's down to us.

"If we have a successful end to the season we can push on to the next one and hopefully we can continue to build and grow."

The Saints have drawn their last four matches with Killie but have only lost three matches at home all season.

Kick off in Paisley is at 3pm.
