Kyle Lafferty has become a free agent after terminating his deal with Anorthosis Famagusta.

The former Rangers and Hearts striker struggled to make an impact after signing with the Cypriot side in the summer.

The Northern Ireland international moved there after a successful spell with Kilmarnock last season.

Lafferty scored 13 goals in 13 appearances with the Rugby Park side but was unable to stop them being relegated to the Championship.

Kilmarnock were unable to keep a hold of him as he left for another stint abroad.

He will now look for a new club after his time with Anorthosis Famagusta has come to an end.

A club statement confirming his departure read: “Anorthosis Famagusta announces the mutually agreed solution of its cooperation with the football player Kyle Lafferty.

“We would like to thank the footballer for his positive attitude towards the solution of our cooperation and we wish him every success on a personal and professional level.”
