Killie aim to get League Cup campaign back on track
Lee McCulloch's side face Clyde tonight
Kilmarnock boss Lee McCulloch is demanding a better end product as his side look to get their Betfred Cup campaign back on track against Clyde.
Killie suffered a 1-0 derby defeat to Ayr on Friday night after a poor first-half display.
They had more pressure and possession after the break but struggled to trouble the opposition goalkeeper.
However, McCulloch saw some encouraging signs in the displays of wingers Jordan Jones and Dom Thomas and he wants his players to show more cutting edge against the Ladbrokes League Two side at Rugby Park on Tuesday.
"There were some positives in the second half, where we actually got the ball down and passed it,'' McCulloch said.
"We got in the right areas as well so I think that's a positive as well with JJ (Jones) and Dom at the other side. It was just that end pass, that end cross, that end shot.
"You could say it was maybe a bit of ring-rust because it was our first competitive 90 minutes, but that would be making excuses.
"We were disappointed but we just need to kick on."
