Josh Windass plays down 'shush' celebration
The Rangers forward came under fire for his celebration against Partick Thistle on Tuesday
Rangers forward Josh Windass insists there was no malice in his 'shush' celebration to his own fans after he had scored the opener in the 2-0 win at Partick Thistle on Tuesday night.
The 24-year-old attacker fired the visitors into a first-half lead then put his finger to his lips as he wheeled away in front of the travelling fans.
At Friday's pre-match media conference ahead of the William Hill Scottish Cup tie against Ayr United on Sunday, Gers boss Graeme Murty revealed Windass had apologised.
And later, the former Accrington Stanley player told Sky Sports: "There was no real reason or malice in the celebration.
"It was a just a little bit of frustration.
"It was just how I was playing in the game up to that point, I was a bit frustrated and I just reacted in maybe the wrong way but that's what happens sometimes in football.
"I forgot about it straight away. It is just other people bringing it up to me so I will let them talk about it and I will concentrate on myself.'
