Jon Obika signs for Motherwell on permanent deal

Motherwell have completed the signing of Jon Obika on a permanent deal.
The striker joined the Steelmen on loan from Morecambe in January and scored one goal in ten appearances.
The 32-year old also missed a period of the campaign through injury but did enough to impress manager Stuart Kettlewell on an initial one-year deal with the option of another.
Obika told the club's official website: “Having been here last season, I was really eager to come back again this season.
“I thrive when I work in a professional environment and feel that’s when I can get the best out of me. This club has high standards in abundance and I’m fully committed for the campaign ahead.
“There is a real feel-good factor at the club and I’m looking forward to trying to create a successful season together.”
Manager Stuart Kettlewell added: “Jon has impressed me with his attitude and application since I arrived.
“He picked up a hamstring injury when we played Ross County in Dingwall. He picked the knock up in the first few minutes of the game but continued to fight and help the team towards a massive win on the road.
“That’s the type of character he is and I’m delighted we can keep him at the club.”
