Jo Potter targets more Rangers silverware after first cup win
Rangers women's manager Jo Potter is already targeting more silverware after picking up her first trophy at the club.
The English boss and her players lifted the Sky Sports Cup on Sunday after a 4-1 win over Partick Thistle in the final at Tynecastle.
Mia McAulay, Rachel Rowe, Rio Hardy and Liv McLoughlin bagged the goals as they secured the first domestic honours of the season.
Rangers could still complete a treble in Potter's first season at the helm with the club sitting top of SWPL1 and through to the semi-finals of the Scottish Gas Women's Scottish Cup.
Following the victory, Potter said: âIt will take a bit of time for me to reflect on my emotions.
âItâs my first trophy as a manager and it was important for us to lift the trophy today.
It is special for me to win my first trophy.
âYou donât think about yourself and it is only until someone asks you about it that you do.
âIt is nice and hopefully it is the first of many at this great club.
âYou can see what it means to the players. It was Roweâs first final and she came up with a great goal.
âRio came up here and scored in a final. Some of the players have lifted this trophy before but it doesnât mean any less - you can see what it means to them.
âWe have some work to do but we are hungry for more.
âWe have had an amazing season up to now and after last weekâs disappointment that was the best thing that could have happened to us.
âTo get our first piece of silverware, hopefully the first of many this year.â
